Why Choose Us?

Pain is rarely simple. Whether it shows up as a dull ache in your shoulder, a sharp catch in your lower back, a burning sensation down your leg, or the unsettling feeling that your hand has fallen asleep for no reason — what you feel on the surface is usually a signal of something more specific happening underneath. At the Center for Alternative Medicine in Pueblo, CO, we take that signal seriously.

Dr. Theodore Davis and the CAM Clinic team are trained to look beyond the symptom and find the cause. That distinction matters more than most people realize. A diagnosis that doesn't fully account for your body's biomechanics, history, and individual presentation isn't just incomplete — it can lead to treatments that don't work, or interventions you didn't need. Our approach starts with a thorough examination, every time.

We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions using conservative, non-surgical methods — including chiropractic adjustment, Active Release Technique, laser therapy, acupuncture, corrective exercise, and nutritional counseling. Below is an overview of the four main categories of conditions we treat. Each section goes deeper into specific diagnoses, what causes them, and how we approach care.

Joint Aches & Pain

Your joints are constantly at work — holding you upright, absorbing impact, and making even the most ordinary movements possible. When something goes wrong in a joint, whether from overuse, injury, aging, or disease, the effects ripple outward into your daily life in ways that are hard to ignore. We treat a broad range of joint-related conditions, from shoulder problems like rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, and impingement syndrome, to hip and SI joint dysfunction, knee pain, and TMJ disorders. No two joint presentations are the same, which is why every patient receives a careful evaluation before any care begins.

Tendonitis & Muscle Pain

Tendons are the connective structures that anchor your muscles to your bones, and when they become inflamed or degraded, the pain can be intense and surprisingly stubborn. Tendonitis and tendonosis are often misidentified or undertreated, particularly when muscle pain is involved alongside them. We treat conditions affecting the rotator cuff, biceps, achilles, calf muscles, and many other structures throughout the body. Our goal is always to exhaust conservative options before any surgical path is considered — and in the vast majority of cases, that approach is enough. [Learn more about Tendonitis & Muscle Pain →]

Spinal Pain

The spine is the structural and neurological center of the body, which means pain originating there can manifest almost anywhere — in your neck, your mid-back, your lower back, your arms, or even as headaches that seem to have no obvious source. Approximately nine out of ten headaches are tension-type headaches that originate in the cervical spine. Low back pain, one of the most common complaints we see, can stem from dozens of distinct causes that only a thorough examination can sort out. We treat the full length of the spine and take care to rule out any serious underlying conditions before proceeding with alternative care.

Numbness & Tingling Numbness and tingling are among the most commonly misdiagnosed symptoms in musculoskeletal care. Conditions like sciatica and carpal tunnel syndrome are frequently used as catch-all diagnoses when the true cause of nerve-related symptoms hasn't been adequately investigated. Dr. Davis has specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral neuropathies — nerve compressions and irritations that most practitioners aren't equipped to identify. If you've been told what you have but treatments haven't helped, there's a good chance the root cause hasn't been found yet. We can help with that.

Whatever brought you here, you don't have to keep guessing at what's wrong or settle for management that only addresses the surface. Call the CAM Clinic to schedule your consultation — and find out what's actually going on.
